History
Our history and general information about Mercy Mt. Shasta.

When you choose Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta, and its affiliated hospitals -- St. Elizabeth in Red Bluff and Mercy Redding -- you receive a heritage of healing founded by the Sisters of Mercy more than 50 years ago. For you and your family, that means access to the newest technology, better programs and more services for the future, without leaving home. It's a history you can believe in.

As part of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), we are part of a network of not-for-profit hospitals and health services companies providing a continuum of care in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta provides a full range of health care services and programs, which contribute to the physical, social, psychological and spiritual well-being of area residents and visitors. Combining a strong sense of caring with sophisticated medical technology, we have earned a reputation as a quality health service institution, which has attracted a high caliber medical staff (many of whom are board certified) representing a wide variety of specialties. Surveys by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Department of Health Services and the California Medical Association Institute of Medical Quality consistently give extremely high scores to our services and programs.

We are situated at the base of the majestic Mount Shasta in a naturally serene, healing environment, with park-like grounds offering a quiet place for meditation and reflection. We are continually upgrading and expanding our services to give our patients the most current medical care possible. And, through active involvement in area schools, churches and civic organizations, we are an integral and valued part of our community.
