Community Grants
Catholic Healthcare West's Community Grants Program is one way in which we realize our mission and enhance the advocacy, social justice and healthier communities efforts of our hospitals.  Through this program, CHW partners with other nonprofit organizations that are working to improve the health status and quality of life of the communities we serve, and whose efforts embody CHW's values.  CHW grant funds are to be used to provide services to underserved populations.

Community Investments
CHW provides direct, low-interest loans to community-based, non-profit enterprises.  We also make loan guarantees, linked deposits and capital investments in community revitalization.  These investments yield a social return such as providing housing, creating jobs or revitalizing neighborhoods.  The community investments are an expression of our commitment to overall health of the community and to partner with others to improve the quality of life.

CHW actively pursues suitable instituions and/or projets for these community investments.

The CHW Investment Committee evaluates the social and financial status of potential community investments, determines the amount, rate of return and duration of community investments and reviews the community investment portfolio regularly.
