We continuously add sophisticated technology to keep pace with advancements in diagnostic and treatment capabilities.  To help your physician effectively diagnose and treat your medical condition, Mercy Mt. Shasta's Imaging Services offer a full range of medical imaging services.

Mercy Mt. Shasta is proud to introduce Digital Mammography, purchased with philanthropic dollars raised by the ongoing efforts of Mercy Foundation North.

Our Imaging Services technology includes a multi-slice CT scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Linear Accelerator for Radiation Oncology, Fluoroscopy, Advanced Ultrasound, Mammography/CAD, Interventional Imaging, Computed Radiography Bone Density Analysis, Biopsy, Myelography services, and PACS (Picture Archives & Communication System).

A team of Board-Certified Radiologists oversee this important department, in conjunction with hospital-based technicians and managers.

In addition to our Imaging Services, other technical capabilities we provide include a high tech-diagnostics laboratory, pathology services and blood bank.  Mercy Mt. Shasta's cardiopulmonary services include EKG testing, complete pulmonary function testing, and cardiac stress testing.

Radiology Services Available at Mercy Mt. Shasta

Our Radiology Department provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging services for inpatients and outpatients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, utilizing the newest technology available. 

  • CT: Computed Tomography scans - a cross section of multiple x-rays to analyze internal structures after a traumatic injury or illness
  • MRI: Magnetic resonance imaging scans - produce the highest quality images of tumors and other medical conditions throughout the body
  • Nuclear Medicine: Uses very small amounts of radioactive substance to help visualize various body parts and functions, such as the kidneys, blood flow, and lungs
  • Ultrasound: commonly used to reveal images of a baby during pregnancy, and also to view the chest, abdomen, blood vessels, and the heart
  • X-ray: Utilized to verify broken or fractured bones as well as possible conditions in the lung or abdomen, and some cancers
  • Digital Mammography:  Improved patient comfort, reduced exam time, false positives are decreased, radiologist is able to review results immediately
